Hello? Are you my mommy?

Another tax season under my belt. I believe this was the hardest one yet – emotionally. Last year was certainly he hardest one on me phisically. Being 6 months pregnant and handling 100 extra returns will certainly take it’s toll! This year the work seemed to be easier. Maybe because caffeine and alcohol were back on the menu, or perhaps because Chuck helped us out and did a really great job. BUT…not seeing the kiddos really took a toll on me. I think the worst was the last week, when on Wednesday I realized I had not seen the boys (awake) since Sunday! We will definitely have to do better next year!

Today we returned from a few days in the mountains. I enjoyed just relaxing and spending time with the family. Ely has really grown. He is still not crawling, but he sure can stretch those arms and manuever his body to reach just about anything! Carter has such a great personality. We truly are blessed. We got to eat two wonderful meals at the Canyon Grill, and even got complements on how great the boys were. I am looking forward to spending the rest of the week with them before I go back to work on Mondat. I will definitely plan a few more days off soon to enjoy my boys!

Carter went to the doctor today for his 3 year check-up. He is still growing right on target (even though he is a just a little fellow). He weighs 30 lbs and is 36 inches tall. I think Ely is going to catch him before we know it!

We have TEETH!

I picked up the boys after work yesterday, and learned that Ely had a rough morning. I hate that he was not his usual easy baby. Especially since it must be taxing taking care of 4 kiddos 3 and under. Well, after I got home, I noticed that Ely’s first tooth had broken through the skin. I hope that was the cause of his fussiness. All in all not too bad compared to how some babies react! I am always happy when one of the kids hits a new milestone. However, I wish teeth took much longer, since they say the later they come in the less likely they are for cavities. Here’s hoping!

3 and 6 month Stats

So I am a little behind in posting these, but I finally got tired of looking at the official post-it note sitting on my desk. Here are Ely’s stats from recent doctor’s appointments:

3 months

Height – 26 1/2 in (95th percentile)

Weight – 13 lb 10 oz (25th percentile)

Head – 75th percentile

6 months

Height – 27 1/4 in (75th percentile)

Weight – 15 lb 9 oz (25th percentile)

Head – 90th percentile

I can’t believe how big he is getting! He is still a skinny baby, but he seems so much bigger (longer) than Carter was. I will have to dig out my baby book for Carter to compare.

"Daycare"

Boy do I hate that word! Daycare…why do I have negative thought when I hear it? Well, today we started a new thing at our house. Pate started working on Thursdays and Fridays in our family’s business. He has been watching after the kiddos since we took Carter out of daycare in December 2007. So today after being spoiled for years, I had to get both boys ready and dropped off this morning before I went to work.

I am so lucky that one of my bestest friends is able to watch them for us. She has a little girl who is three months older than Carter and a little boy two weeks older than Ely. Did I mention that she was an elementary school teacher? How perfect is that.

I was worried how this morning would go since Carter normally does not wake up until 8 or 9, and I had to wake him up at 6:00. How surprised was I when I woke him up and he was in a great mood? He was funny repeating over and over that it was still dark out. I don’t think he has ever gotten up when it wasn’t daylight!
